Where have we been??

The beginning of October Steven had shoulder surgery. Now I know you are thinking to yourself this doesn't sound bad. Well you are right it wasn't bad, it was a complete nightmare. I never knew shoulder surgery was a big deal until my poor husband came home in a robo man arm sling. I lovingly called him the terminator for four weeks, yes he had to wear a sling for four weeks and nine weeks later he is still in Physical therapy twice a week now as it is.

He left in the morning on the 6th of October for his surgery and I came later to pick him up. The nurse kept telling she couldn't believe we had done this when I had a three week old baby while Steven was in the operating room. That wasn't encouraging, nor was the fact that the doctor came out and then began to tell me ALL of the things that were wrong with his shoulder and that HOPEFULLY he would be throwing hard again by summer. And it was a big read flag when they kept telling me not to let his pain get out of control once we got home because he might have to come back to the hospital to get it under control again. Ummm, these should have been signs but I ignored them, like the idiot I am or maybe the eternal optimist. When we actually got home, I had to refill this large "Criopack" every four hours with ice water and get him his pain medicine with it and feed Elsie every three hours in the middle of the night. On the second night he threw-up all night because of the pain medicine and again we got no sleep. Do I really need to go into detail about the first week were were home? No, I will spare you as it wasn't pretty around the Simons home with Steven and I getting no sleep.

Things slowly began to be normal and we celebrated Benjamin's birthday with a big bash . . .

We blessed Elsie Lou and had most of our family come out for the occasion!! My Grandma and Grandpa Suker came out. Elsie was named after my mother's father's mother who I knew as a little girl and it meant so much to me that they came!

Spent Thanksgiving in Utah for a week full of fun and a ton of shopping!

And Samantha's birthday this month with a small party for her and her friends. (I couldn't bring myself to do another huge party so she had a late night pajama party with little girls from our ward.)

And on top of the Christmas Season I have been making candy like a mad woman for our clients! (This has sucked up most of my time the past two weeks.)

I did manage to get my children's Christmas pictures taken and a card is on its way!!

I hate to say it, but you know it's true, I will be happy when the new year starts and things claim down again!!

Crazy month! Sorry to hear about it. When I don't get sleep which has been a lot recently...I turn into a witch...I literally feel myself changing into one as the hours progress in a day. I hate that feeling. Because I know if I had a nap I would be a lot nicer. Hopefully things calm down for you soon.

Glad you are surviving! The docs in the states want to do another shoulder surgery on me that would require the 4 weeks in a sling. I opted out but when we get back I may do it because the pain is so bad some days. Yikes! Hopefully these last couple of months of no sleep and pain will become a distant memory. Love the pics! Thanks for sharing.

WOW! Bless your heart. I can't believe all that! I can't believe you still made candy for your clients on top of all of that. You crazy girl :) I love the pics of your kids. They are so cute.

I don't know how you do it with a brand new baby. She is so beautiful. I love her blessing dress. Hope the shoulder gets better! And you get some rest!
